Community Archaeology Exhibition Space Opportunity

Community archaeology exhibition space – Durham

Please read the message below from Gemma Lewis, Deputy Curator (Castle and Archaeology) at Durham University.  If you would like to discuss this with Gemma her contact details are at the end of the message.

Gemma writes:

Many of you may or may not know that the Museum of Archaeology in Durham City has re-opened at Palace Green Library. The exhibition uses objects from Museum of Archaeology, alongside objects from across Durham University and other regional museums to explore the last 10,000 years of Durham. More details online www.dur.ac.uk/archaeology.museum/whatson/exhibitions/gallery/

What is also included in the gallery is a community archaeology space
which showcases the work of local archaeology and history groups from
across the region. The aim is to raise the profile of the work that is
going on across the region and to keep the gallery up to date and
changing with regionally developments. What can be offered to groups
ranges from one or two cases within the gallery right the way through
to including information and objects within the main exhibition.

If this is something that your group (or a group you know) might be
interested please get in touch. We still have a number of slots
available at the end of 2015 and from May 2016.

Best Wishes
